ASO and ASO 1.OSB implemented jointly many educational and school projects and achieved successful results on the need for qualified labor force. ASO-SEM, the latest work of organizations that create wonders in education through faith, organization and effort and train qualified labor force of the future, is prepared to be opened in September. TEZMAKSAN gave ASO-SEM a machine free of charge and sold many technologies at a loss. ASO 1 OSB Member of the Board of Directors and ASO-SEM Chairman of the Board of Directors M. Serdar Tütek answered our questions regarding both the center and school-industry cooperation.
What are the reasons for running an educational project so actively?
Our point of view is not to complain but to develop solutions and to carry out projects that we think will reach the right result... This is the 7th training center jointly established by ASO and ASO 1. OIZ. For example, we have a very successful apprenticeship school, founded 13 years ago.100 students graduates every year from this school. Since its foundation, approximately 1000 students have graduated and 97 percent of these students have been hired. 70 percent of these 1000 people have started the job and still working in their place of internship. In fact, university graduates also work in the management of our former graduates. Because we give them good vocational training.
Is the ASO-SEM you are preparing to open a result of school-industry cooperation?
Our aim with ASO-SEM is to provide “skill” training. Our biggest advantage is to be “regional. We are not small; about 40 thousand people live in our OIZ. It is not difficult to keep the pulse of industry in our mixed region. We can easily see the needs. Training center, school, etc. It is not the first time we’ve done things. We have experience and opportunity. Since we have dealt with training activities before, our infrastructure is solid and it is not difficult to lay the foundation. For ASO-SEM, we tried to determine the curriculum for only 1 year. Here we should provide such an training that we set out with the point of letting industrialists to say “it is just I want”.
When you shared the idea of opening ASO-SEM with the industrialist, how did you get reactions or feedbacks? Could you tell us about the support that TEZMAKSAN offers you in this project?
When we put forward the idea, our industrialists were very excited. Without industrial support, we would not have been able to open such a beautifully constructed center with the budget we spent. Industrialists have supported many technological requirements, from machine-to-machine cutting liquid, software to hydraulic pneumatics. TEZMAKSAN has donated technology to us and offered many technologies at a price that can be called a loss.
Many companies, like TEZMAKSAN, helped by their purse. This obviously made us very happy and hopeful. Our industrialist approach is in the form “If you believe, we believe”. As a result, ASO-SEM became a center where every need was considered, from robot to machine. And the aids we are talking about are not small numbers. Maybe we are strong because we are together and we believe together.
When will training begin at ASO-SEM?
In September we will receive our first trainees and real training will begin. So far, we have met intense demand for applications. We have received close to 200 applications that we have not declared official application. In fact, as ASO 1 OIZ, we have no claim to training. We have ideas that we think should be done better, and we are working for it. ASO has a training foundation and is actively working on the topic of education. This is not just a training center; it is an application center… We are trying to do this in an institutional way and to be followed and followed. As long as the number of these projects are increasing all over Turkey. Turkey earns because we are winning.
